As Thommy Hoskins climbed out of his Chevy Blazer, a mischievous smile surfaced. With an uncanny resemblance to John Travolta, Hoskins has a face that’s hard to miss.
But there’s more to Hoskins than his good looks. He has aspirations that would make anyone jealous. In the fall, Hoskins will travel to Europe to study vocal performance at Eggum University in South London.
Hoskins has already had a great deal of experience in performing, because he’s been singing since the age of 12. He attributes his inspiration to his uncle and performers such as Elvis Costello and Bob Dylan.
Along with singing, Hoskins enjoys playing the guitar and writing music. He recently started performing his songs at local coffeehouses. The songs come from his life experiences and they’re blatantly honest. He says that people relate to his music because “everyone has experienced heartbreak [and] disappointment.”
Hoskins is recording a demo, which he hopes to distribute to as many record labels as he can. He would love to see his songs reach as many people as possible but whatever direction his music takes, Hoskins says that he wants to keep his life centered around music.
While music wafted from Hoskins’ car speakers, the purpose behind his mischievous smile was revealed, “I won’t let love in.”
