In a follow-up to last fall’s “A Flea in Her Ear,” MCC-Longview dinner theatre Backstage at BoBette’s will present “Death Takes a Holiday” in April. Auditions will be cold readings held on January 24 and 25 in the Longview Liberal Arts Building, room 102. Auditions will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Director Joyce Kuhn will need the services of six females and seven males to cast the show.

The play focuses on Death himself and a needed vacation from his stressful existence. Disguised as a prince, Death hopes to find out why people fear him. As he takes a human form, the protagonist begins to finally see life outside of Death.

Performances will be in the Cultural Arts Center on April 8, 9, 15 and 16. The wildly popular play went on to inspire movie remakes including “Meet Joe Black,” starring Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins.
