The speed limit on View High Drive has been changed to 45 MPH from the previous 40 MPH.

Since October 15, 2008 MCCKC-Longview campus has been offering free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at the Southland Center, which is located at the north end of the Longview Rec Center.

TOBACCO TAX INCREASE FUNDS S-CHIPS, PUNISHES SMOKERS

On Feb. 5, 2009 Pres. Barack Obama signed into law a bill that will increase federal tax on cigarettes from 39 cents a pack to $1.01 a pack. The law took effect April 1.

“I think the government is making the smokers scapegoats for their own incompetence,” said Wayne Davis who was coming out of a smoke shop in Kansas City. “I’ve been smoking for 35 years this is the biggest tax hike I can remember” he added. [...]
