LV Learning Center needs tutors

Every semester students are given the opportunity to get involved in activities and possibly make a little extra money on the side through student employment. Currently, Longview is hiring tutors in math, writing, Spanish and science for thefall semester. According to Bridget Gold, Learning Specialist for mathematics, students must maintain a 3.0 GPA to be considered as a tutor. Other requirements include completion of Calculus I for math tutors and English 102 for writing tutors. Also, a letter of recommendation from an instructor related to the material being taught is necessary. Generally, tutoring pays $8.00 per hour. Students interested in tutoring should contact Linda Nelson in the Learning Center, above the library, in the Learning Resources building.
